Delaware auto workers await Chrysler decision—

Delaware auto workers and state officials are anxiously awaiting Chrysler's restructuring announcing expected Wednesday. Some analysts say the automaker could close two plants, cutting 10-thousand hourly jobs and 15-hundred white-collar jobs.

Chrysler has 21-hundred workers at its Newark plant that assembles the Dodge Durango and the Chrysler Aspen sports utility vehicles.

Senator Tom Carper says he met with Chrysler officials on Friday, but declined to discuss details of the talks.

However, he drew parallels between the Newark plant and G-M's decision in the early 1990s to reverse a decision to close a Wilmington area plant that now produces the popular Pontiac Solstice sports coupe. Carper says the state's leaders aggressively lobbied G-M, highlighting the plant's work force, quality and good labor relations.

Hip-Hop Rumors: More War, Nia Long's Fight, Will Smith's Move, Mos Def's Move!

Today's rumors are sponsored by the lovely Rosie Perez, who recently introduced the Pontiac Solstice Club Sport concept vehicle at GM's Style event. Jay-Z's Blue Hue Yukon wasn't the only thing poppin' there!

WILL SMITH TO MOVE TO AFRICA?

Will Smith is rumored to be moving to South Africa and taking his whole family with him. "We want to move to Africa. Actually, I found a house in South Africa, but it was before 9/11 and when that happened, we thought, being Americans, it was a time to be home. But I just loved South Africa," he said to Empire magazine. Will's no America hater though so all you "Young Republicans" don't jump the gun. Anyway, Will's looking to bounce, but I don't think we'll notice the difference since he's so caked up.

MOS DEF GOING INDIE?

I don't know the intimate details of Mos Def's deal with Geffen, but I do know what's being said in the streets.

Razor redux: Dodge readies Solstice-fighting roadster.

Dodge is developing a rear-wheel-drive roadster to compete with the Pontiac Solstice and Saturn Sky, according to a published report citing credible sources. It will have some similarities to the 2002 Dodge Razor concept .

The new two-seater will arrive at the Geneva auto show in March, according to the the latest issue of U.K. weekly car magazine Autocar. It will fit with Dodge's performance brand image, placing it squarely against Pontiac's Solstice, the report said.

"The small sports car market is an ideal fit for Dodge," Chrysler Group design chief Trevor Creed told the magazine.

Chrysler is undoubtedly hoping the Dodge project will experience more success than the Chrysler-brand Crossfire. The two-seat roadster and coupe have been criticized for being overpriced and not competitive enough.
